Fake PUNCH Reporter Arrested By Police..

Adeyinka Adetope
Adeyinka Adetope posing as a reporter with PUNCH newspapers was arrested by the Lagos State Police Command on the 21st of February. He was extorting money from people under false pretense.

The said fake reporter was arrested on the premises of a secondary school in Akowonjo, Lagos, where he had received a sum of N50,000 and a laptop meant for an editor of PUNCH newspapers. He promised the school that the cash and laptop would guarantee a free publicity for them for six months. The proprietor and principal of the school where even interviewed too.

On a PUNCH letterhead paper, he submitted a proposal to the school and was suggesting ways in which the newspaper would be of good benefit to the school. Furthermore he interviewed the proprietor and principal of the school. Still he was rewarded with another N10,000 and gifts to give to his editor.

Unfortunately he disguised himself to be the "editor" and he called to thank the school, promising them to write a story about them soon, but after the call was received, it was perceived that the voice of the "editor" and that of Adetope could be the same.

The  school called PUNCH office, the teachers were advised to play along, PUNCH reported to the police, and thereafter he was arrested on the 21st of February when he walked to the school premises. He has since then been taken to Shasha Police Divisoin.

It was also learnt that Adetope allegedly showed the management of the school a fake PUNCH Identity Card,

After the conclusion of the police investigation, Adetope would be taken to the court.

Kim Kardashian: The Earth Expectant Mother

Kim Kardashian
Kim Kardashian looks the changed woman now. She took shots by Bruce Weber Photos for the latest issue of DuJour magazine which was made for her pregnant fashion debut this week.

Gone are the days when she takes the diamond arm candy, designer logos and 6-inch high boots photo shots. Instead she shows off her baby bump with little or no makeup in photos, full eyebrows and covered up body.

In her interview she talks more of learning to keep a low profile, maintain a private life and even end "Keeping Up With the Kardashians" after its 9th season.

Is this the new way of life of Kim Kardashian, her brand or a pause in her life of the most known and flashiest reality star on earth because she is pregnant? Maybe a little of both phases.

Below her quotes from the expectant mother:
  • On her pregnancy: "I just feel so blessed and excited and ready for the next phase."
  • On her new approach to privacy: “I’m realizing everyone doesn’t need to know everything. I’m shifting my priorities.”
  • On not drinking Diet Coke around the clock:  “I used to always say I can’t wait to get pregnant because I will just eat whatever I want, but it’s completely different. I’m like, OK, I want to eat as healthy as possible.
  • On her new interest in motherhood on TV: 'Lately I’ve been watching shows like 'I’m Pregnant And Addicted To Meth.' It definitely makes me feel better if I’m wanting one sip of Diet Coke or, you know, too much sugar."
Kim Kardashian has become way selective to fan's request when asked for her photographs, especially when she is with Kanye West, her lover and father to her unborn baby. She simply replies with the comment " I am so sorry, my boyfriend won't let me"

To that end, any detailed "baby stuff" such as doctor appointments, pre-baby shopping or giving birth won't be included in the new season of Keeping Up With the Kardashians

Maybe this "Earth Mother" thing is still a work in progress.

Would Keep you updated

Goldie's Label "Kennis Music" Officially Released Statement Of Her Demise.

Statement from the CEO of Kennis Music, Kenny Ogungbe pictured above with the late singer
“With a deep sense of loss, we announce the shocking death of our darling music star, Goldie Harvey. Goldie, 31, died on Thursday after she complained of a severe headache shortly after her arrival from the United States where she went to witness the Grammy Award. She was rushed from her Park View, Ikoyi, Lagos residence to her official hospital, Reddington, Victoria Island, Lagos, where doctors pronounced her dead on arrival at exactly 7:30pm in the evening.
We consider this period a gloomy moment for us and the entire Nigerian music industry in view of the circumstance in which she passed away; the abundance of talent she exhibited in her short but eventful music career and the various opportunities her trip to the United States of America would have availed her. She is survived by her father, step- mother, brothers and sisters. We deeply sympathise with her family and fans all over the world and very grateful to all and sundry, especially, the vibrant Nigerian media for their concern and prompt reportage. We shall keep everybody informed as events unfold as we are devastated by the sudden loss.”
Rest in peace Goldie, it is such a painful and untimely death.

Coach Stephen Keshi Resigns!!

The historic winning coach Stephen Keshi has resigned his position of the Nigerian Senior Football Team, the Super Eagles as head of coach.

Keshi noted that the Nigerian Football Federation (NFF) had already decided they would sack him as soon as the Super Eagles where knocked out in the quarterfinal clash against Ivory Coast. Which means that they did not believe the Super Eagles would progress beyond that stage of the competition. Moreover he stated that NFF booked a ticket back to Nigeria the moment they found out that Ivory Coast was playing against Nigeria.

Although there is no official letter on this note from Nigerian Football Authorities, speculations are been made that lack of support and continuous meddling are among the reasons for his resignation.

Its unlikely for Keshi to change his mind because he believes NFF did not trust him enough and respect his tactics as a coach.

He was quoted as saying "it's a shame in Africa, When there's a good African coach, nobody wants to give you time and space, they want you to have the job today, build an excellent team tomorrow and win the World Cup the following year. If only we can understand the dynamics of how these things work we can have more achievement and successes. But most coaches are not given freedom to work so they are held back."

Let's hope that he changes his mind.

Tourching Story Of A Winner - Victor Moses

This is the story of a young boy whose parents were murdered during 2002 riots in Kaduna.

Moses parents were missionaries until they met their untimely death in the year 2002 Kaduna riot. He was 11 years old when this fate behold him. Moses left to play football but returned home and never saw his parents again.Thereafter he was taken to London by his uncle almost immediately after the incident.

Though his parents were murdered, his passion for football never wavered. He continued to explore his football skills. He played football for his school and for a local Tandrige League club until he was approached by Crystal Palace FC. He football career progressed from that moment.

In the year 2005 till 2010 he played for England under 16, 17, 19, and 21 team scoring 11 goals during this period. He plays for Chelsea now.

When the call to serve his fatherland came, he embraced Nigeria without holding unto the unforeseen incident that happened to his parents. That is patriotism. He dumped England because he loves his country, he had faith in this country and he forgave this country.

Moses rose through bitterness and despair to the limelight of hope and courage. He never gave up on his country. He persevered… That is purpose!

Today Moses Victor is one of the members of Super Eagles that brought joy to every Nigeria by winning the African Cup of Nation.

If someone like Victor Moses, despite the bitter past, never gave up on Nigeria, then why should we!

Pope Benedict Resignation Letter - Read!!!

Dear Brothers,

I have convoked you to this Consistory, not only for the three canonizations, but also to communicate to you a decision of great importance for the life of the Church. After having repeatedly examined my conscience before God, I have come to the certainty that my strengths, due to an advanced age, are no longer suited to an adequate exercise of the Petrine ministry. I am well aware that this ministry, due to its essential spiritual nature, must be carried out not only with words and deeds, but no less with prayer and suffering. However, in today’s world, subject to so many rapid changes and shaken by questions of deep relevance for the life of faith, in order to govern the bark of Saint Peter and proclaim the Gospel, both strength of mind and body are necessary, strength which in the last few months, has deteriorated in me to the extent that I have had to recognize my incapacity to adequately fulfill the ministry entrusted to me. For this reason, and well aware of the seriousness of this act, with full freedom I declare that I renounce the ministry of Bishop of Rome, Successor of Saint Peter, entrusted to me by the Cardinals on 19 April 2005, in such a way, that as from 28 February 2013, at 20:00 hours, the See of Rome, the See of Saint Peter, will be vacant and a Conclave to elect the new Supreme Pontiff will have to be convoked by those whose competence it is.

Dear Brothers, I thank you most sincerely for all the love and work with which you have supported me in my ministry and I ask pardon for all my defects. And now, let us entrust the Holy Church to the care of Our Supreme Pastor, Our Lord Jesus Christ, and implore his holy Mother Mary, so that she may assist the Cardinal Fathers with her maternal solicitude, in electing a new Supreme Pontiff. With regard to myself, I wish to also devotedly serve the Holy Church of God in the future through a life dedicated to prayer.

BENEDICTUS PP XVI

Pope To Resign 28th of Febraury, 2013

Pope Benedict XVI, the spiritual leader of 1.2 billion shocked the world today by saying he will resign at the end of the month. He decided to take the decision due to his "advanced age"

"Strength of mind and body are necessary, strength which in the last few months has deteriorated in me to the extent that I have had to recognize my incapacity to adequately fulfill the ministry entrusted to me," the pope said, according to the Vatican.

In nearly 600 years, this is the first time a pope has resigned. Gregory XII was the last pope to resign in 1415. He was said to have taken the decision to end a supposed civil war in the church where more than one person claimed to be the Pope.

Pope Benedict XVI is the 265th Pope, the sixth German to serve as pope and the first since the 11th century.

The Vatican spokes man Rev. Federico Lombardi stated that before Easter a new pope would be elected.

Its been said that after his resignation, Benedict, 85, will probably retire to a monastery and devote himself to a life of reflection and prayer.

We wish him all the best.....

Super Eagles of Nigeria Now Champions of Africa..

Forty minutes into the first half, home based player Sunday Mba gave the Super Eagles a deserved goal "1-0". This is a second goal of the tournament, having struck a superb match-winner in the 2-1 quarter final defeat of Ivory Coast. The Super Eagle made the breakthrough just before half-time when Mba clipped the ball into the goal post.

The victory is historical for us here in Nigeria. This has taken 19 good years to win the African Nations Cup and the third time it was doing so since it first took part in the continental soccer fiesta in 1963.

This result took the winning coach Stephen Keshi into the record book by winning gold medals as a player and as a coach. This is also the first time in 21 years that a black African coach has won the cup. Yeo Martial an old coach from Cote d'Ivoire was the last to do so in 1992.

Reacting to the victory, the winning coach Stephen Keshi, stated that “winning this is mainly for my nation – when I came on board a year and a half ago my dream was to make all Nigerians happy, and to construct a great Nigerian team, We are not there yet, it’s still in process.

Among the rewards for the Super Eagles is a $1.5 million first prize and a place at the FIFA Confederations Cup in Brazil, where they will face world and European champions Spain, Tahiti and Uruguay.

It was a win that was fully deserved as Nigeria comfortably beat a tired-looking Burkina Faso, who struggled to make an impact in their maiden final appearance.

Five Nigerians were named in the tournament’s best 11. They are Emenike, Vincent Enyeama, Mikel Obi, Victor Moses and Efe Ambrose

Congrats Super Eagles and Up Nigeria
